Pepero day is a day that people exchange Pepero which looks like November 11th (11/11) between friends or acquaintances. This custom of Pepero began when Lotte Confectionery came out with chocolate Pepero, and at that time, teen age girls in Yeongnam used to give Pepero each other. And it became trend and was known by local newspaper.
They said they should eat to get complete slimming effect on time at 11:11:11 on November 11th. This joke spread all over the country, and Lotte company used it as marketing.
As a result, Pepero day is one of the major days that people celebrate nowadays.
